Playa Grande
Not every great drink is a cocktail in a tiki mug. Playa Grande also pours two kinds of michelada, cold Mexican and American beer, and three playful shots. Here's what to know before you order.
Micheladas
A michelada is beer's savory, spicy cousin: cold beer with lime, salt and a chile-rimmed glass. Playa Grande has two.
Michelada Preparada $17
The "loaded" version: a bigger, more elaborate michelada built to be a meal-sized showpiece. Ask your server what garnishes come on it that day.
Michelada $11
The classic. Light, tangy and spicy, it's the go-to with tacos, birria or seafood, and a favorite on game days.
Beer
- Mexican beer: $5
- American beer: $4.50
Ask your server which brands are on right now. A cold Mexican lager with lime is the classic partner for tacos, and for game-day snacking.
Shots ($6 each)
- Scooby Doo
- Victoria Secret
- Jolly Rancher
Fun, candy-style names for a party round. The menu sheet lists the names and the $6 price but not the ingredients, so ask your server what's in each before ordering.
Pairing guide
- Tacos al pastor or carne asada: Mexican beer with lime.
- Birria: a classic Michelada.
- Big celebration table: Michelada Preparada, then a round of shots.
- Not drinking? Try the aguas frescas.
